Immediately after starting your doctoral project, you register your doctoral procedure in DocGS, the online portal for doctoral candidates at TUM. Here you register as a doctoral candidate and then apply for entry in the doctoral list for the TUM School for Medicine and Health - Medical Doctorate (Dr. med.). By registering in DocGS, however, you are not yet a member of the TUM Graduate School. Membership only exists after your documents have been successfully reviewed by the doctoral institution and begins on the date of the formal review. Please let us know if you need confirmation that your application has been submitted.
How to submit an application
- Under Submit application, you can enter all the requested information about your previous education, your supervising committee and your project
- You can save your entries at any time and continue with the application later.
- Once you have entered all the details and checked them carefully, click Save and submit. Please note: Once you have submitted your application, you can no longer change your details.
- In the table under My Progress you can now find the supervision agreement and the application for entry in the doctoral candidacy list.
- Send these two documents together with the other necessary documents (see Application for entry in the doctoral candidacy list) to Ms. Schleider (A - K) or Ms. Scheck (L - Z):

Candidates with a foreign degree
- Application for entry in the doctoral candidacy list
- Supervision agreement
- Officially certified copy of your foreign university degree (no originals!)
- if not already evident from the certificate: officially certified copy of a confirmation from your university of the examinations taken to obtain the degree and their results as well as the minimum passing grade
- if the university certificates are not issued in German or English, please submit a corresponding translation prepared by a sworn translator
- abstract of your thesis in German or English
- If you did not have to write a thesis, please submit a confirmation that you were not required to write one
- Resume with details of previous education (school, degree, etc.)
Candidates who have not yet completed their studies in Germany
- Application for entry in the doctoral candidacy list
- Supervision agreement
- Certificate of enrollment
Please submit an officially certified copy of the university degree certificate and, if available, an officially certified copy of the university degree certificate after passing the medical examination so that the final entry in the doctoral list can take place.
